Snapshots from our adventures
One would often think, that after all talk about calming the mind, integrating the mind, body, and
intellect and meditating, why is there adventure in CHYK camps?
The answer is written in the question itself. When a person, is playing a game or is trekking, he or she has a single-pointed focus on the work at hand. Thus, these adventures are itself a form of yoga or
meditation! Swami Chinmayananda , once said-“If I rest, I rust.” This does not only apply to our mind but also to our body.
Moreover, for the young campers, it is an escapade of sorts, from all the learning of the previous days.
It is a different way of learning and exploring one’s own self, physically and mentally, left to one’s own thoughts. And for many, there is always the joy of doing something new.
In the Bhagavad Gita, Shri Krishna says that even if you are a realized person, never be idle. Have the enthusiasm of a child. So, adventure itself is an essential part of the quest.
